A Massive Leap Forward for Oishia Commerce

The engineering team at Oishia is incredibly proud to announce the rollout of our Summer Release. This is our most significant architectural update of the year, representing months of rigorous development, beta testing, and direct feedback from our enterprise merchants.

Our core philosophy has always been to build a unified Commerce Operating System that handles the complex, edge-case realities of modern business—realities that lightweight systems simply ignore. This release focuses heavily on two of the most requested areas from our high-volume retailers and distributors: advanced consumer financing at the point of sale, and deep automation for third-party logistics.

Major Feature 1: Native POS Installment Plans

Retailers selling high-ticket items—such as electronics, furniture, or heavy machinery—rely on financing to close deals. However, managing in-house installment plans often creates an accounting nightmare. With this release, we have completely overhauled our financial engine to support native POS Installments.

  • Automated Ledger Splitting: When an installment sale is processed, Oishia now automatically splits the journal entries. It books the full amount to Sales Revenue to comply with recognition standards, but splits the asset debit between your Cash account (for the down payment) and a new, dedicated 'Installments Receivable' account.
  • Payment Scheduling: The system automatically generates a multi-month payment schedule linked to the customer’s CRM profile, providing finance teams with an immediate forecast of expected incoming cash flow.
  • Automated Collections: Customers can now log into the Oishia B2B portal to view their active installment plans and pay their upcoming dues via credit card, seamlessly burning down the receivable balance in the central ledger without staff intervention.

Major Feature 2: The Courier Integration Ecosystem

For our ecommerce and DSD clients, managing the final mile is paramount. The manual data entry required to dispatch packages across multiple couriers is a major bottleneck. The Summer Release introduces our new Courier Hub.

  • Direct API Dispatch: Warehouse managers can now dispatch orders directly to major logistics providers (including Pathao, Steadfast, and RedX) with a single click from the Oishia Fulfillment dashboard. The system instantly returns the tracking number and generates the printable waybill.
  • Webhook-Driven Status Sync: We have eliminated slow API polling. Oishia now listens for real-time webhooks from the couriers, instantly updating the order status in the CRM the second a package is marked "In Transit" or "Delivered."
  • COD Reconciliation Engine: To protect your cash flow, we built a dedicated tool to cross-reference courier settlement spreadsheets against dispatched COD invoices, instantly flagging discrepancies and shortages for dispute resolution.

Quality of Life Improvements

Alongside these massive features, we’ve deployed dozens of optimization patches. We have rewritten the database queries for the Inventory Valuation report, resulting in a 400% speed increase when generating reports for catalogs exceeding 50,000 SKUs. We have also introduced new HSL color token support in the storefront theming engine, allowing for even deeper brand customization.
